The Littlest Polly I know

In Blogger World I come across probably a hundred new people a day.  They are often not exactly my cup of tea, but I generally love their passion and attention to detail.  Every once in a while I come across someone who has everything together and I can’t get enough of their style.  There is a blogger whom I just can’t get enough of, The Littlest Polly.  She has a gorgeous, unending collection of vintage luggage and accessories  (of which I am eternally jealous) and an extremely talented photographer, Nathan Adhikar.  His photos are vibrant and have amazing photographic composition; her styling is perfectly chic.  This dynamic duo goes to show the excellent example of what can be done when two talented people get together.  I particularly loved her post entitled What isn’t nature//round two. In this post, she wore threads scouted at the Salvation Army and makes it look sweet like sugar.  First, I love the modified dress made from a skirt.  It looks perfect.  Then, to balance out the red with (neutrals) black, gray, and tan is such a great contrast to the background and really adds to the depth of the ensemble.

On top of being a ridiculously talented fashion stylist, she also is one of the nicest and versatile bloggers I know.  She paints, sews, draws, designs, pets her cat, all the while keeping up with her blog. and working jobs.  I had a chance to ask her a few questions and thought you should know a little more about Polly too:

Who was your style icon growing up? My mother was my style icon, honestly. She was perfect in my eyes.. she did no wrong. She is so beautiful in every way. I was amazed how she could capture everyone at a party with her smile and laughter. She is the one who started my fashion sense from an early age. She gave me her vintage hat collection and dresses she bought in Hollywood when she lived there.

If you could be a fruit what would you be? I’d definitely be an avocado. I really have an obsession with them. Although I like to paint food (especially fruit in general) avocados are often what I obsess over. That will probably change to another fruit soon, though. I really want an avocado tattoo!

Do you have any pets and how did you come about them? I have a cat named Joao (sch-wow) who now lives with my wonderful Grandmother Kutch in my home town, Taylorville, Illinois. My old room mate, Emily, owned him before I did and she moved to Chicago. I was instantly in love with the cat as soon as I moved into our house and then he became my baby. He loves being outside, though- so he has a more relaxed life with my grandmother. She is single, too.. so it’s nice having a companion.

What was the most influential concert in your life? Sunset Rubdown. I got to actually meet the lead singer- Spencer Krug. I got a photo with him and his autograph. There is nothing like getting to meet your idol that you listen to every day and obsess over completely! He is truly amazing. He is also in bands such as Swan Lake, Frog Eyes, Moonface (a solo project), and Wolf Parade.

You are such a creative person, what is your one more loved past time? I LOVE TO PAINT. I love fashion. I love to draw. Making outfits with interesting color pallettes is really something I enjoy, too. Can’t pick just one!! :D

Where do you live, the back grounds in your photo’s are beautiful? I took most of my photos in Taylorville, IL. Now I live in Urbana, IL for college at the university of illinois. :)

With all of this no wonder she has hundreds of followers and tons of fans. Here’s a link to one of her favorite bands, Sunset Rubdown; I checked it out and it’s pretty great. Make sure that you check out (and add to follow) Polly’s Blog, The Littlest Polly, at http://mylittlepolly.blogspot.com/.

This weekend I am going to Las Vegas again to live it up, so be sure to stop in to check out my fashion finds and vintage therapy.

Until next time my friends,

Jessica
